I will look into the luts you mentioned, but I kind of suspect that I messed up a setting or something. The 1D luts for slog 2 that came with resolve work, but they are just 1D and I was hoping for some 3D luts. These are the "official" luts from sony that they claim were designed for Resolve 12.5Īlso, if I try to use the 3D luts that were included with resolve, I also get that hard "line" at 800 IRE. I can try and increase the gain and it won't go over that 800 IRE mark. It is that there is a hard "line" at the 800 IRE and nothing can go over it. I am not sure if it is clear from the image that I uploaded, but it isn't just that the footage is clipped. While I'm normally kind of an anti-LUT guy, Hrvoje Simic over at Omeneo Design has done a decent job at creating some that I think work well with Sony SLog2 and SLog3, and they're affordable (fifty bucks) and work OK: (ACES works well for a lot of people, and I don't begrudge anybody who wants to try it.) There are pros and cons to using Color Space Transforms in the Node tree, so that's a third method. I tend to put the LUT first in the chain (if I have to use one), and at the moment I'm not happy with ACES because of the way it responds. When using S-Log to shoot, performing grading in the post-production process will allow you to create image effects matching each scene with a. S-Gamut is color reproduction that is supposed to be used together with S-Log. You can take a tip from Patrick Inhofer of and put a node in front of the LUT node and use that to bring the signal down a bit if it's clipping or crushing. S-Log is a gamma curve that is optimized under the assumption that grading will be performed in the post-production process.
